A hire car is included for all of our Florida holidays. This gives you the freedom and flexibility to explore the Sunshine State and to get the most out of your holiday.

Driving is such an easy way to get around and it is an enjoyable experience. The roads in Florida are well maintained with good signposts and petrol is inexpensive. All Alamo cars are modern, have automatic transmission and air conditioning.

What's Included with your Free Holiday Car Hire*

Third Party liability.
Basic third party liability coverage is included in all rentals and protects you or any authorised drivers should you injure or damage property up to the state limit. Unlike Europe, where third party liability coverage is unlimited, each state in the USA establishes a minimum level of coverage which may be as low as US$10,000. Although this minimum third party coverage is included in the rental hire, it could well leave you seriously financially exposed in the event of a claim against you. Therefore, we strongly recommend you upgrade to the Fully Inclusive or Alamo Gold products to include up to $1 million Liability Coverage and Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Both of these are important for your peace of mind.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Alamo’s CDW protects you against damage to the Alamo car (including theft and vandalism), regardless of who is at fault (rentals in New York State are subject to a $100 excess). Without Alamo’s CDW, you (the renter) would be personally responsible for any damage up to the full value of your Alamo vehicle. If CDW is not pre-booked it will be payable locally.

$1 Million Liability Coverage (Liability protection LP)
Provides the renter and authorized drivers up to an aggregate, single limit of $1,000,000 for claims that may by made by others against the renter and authorized drivers for bodily injury, death and/or property damage arising out of the use or operation of our rental vehicle.

Also included is an Uninsured Motorist (UM) benefit up to an aggregate, single limit of $100,000. UM provides benefits to the renter and any family member related by blood, marriage, or adoption, who, while physically occupying Alamo’s rental vehicle when it is being driven by the renter or an authorized driver, suffers bodily injury or death caused by negligent uninsured motorist, negligent underinsured motorists, or a negligent hit-and-run driver. (EP) product. State/local taxes, surcharges & airport fees If not pre-booked, all state/local taxes, surcharges and airport fees are payable at time of pick-up. These vary across the USA and are payable on rental charges and optional items.

Changes to legislation or regulations may affect Alamo's pricing or procedures.

On all inclusive products Alamo reserves the right, without notice to charge customers at the time of rental or thereafter, for the amount of additional or increased surcharges, fees or taxes.

Additional Drivers
Only authorised drivers listed on the Alamo Rental Agreement are permitted to drive Alamo rental cars. Each driver must be present to show their valid driving license at time of rental. If not pre-booked the cost is USA$10 plus taxes per driver, per day.

Fuel
You will receive your car with a full tank of fuel. Unless included in your rate package payment for this tank will be required at time of rental. No refund will be given for fuel purchased but not used. (The exception to this is all Manhattan locations where cars are not filled up with fuel ).

Boot space is smaller in the states. Upgrade in the UK to ensure you have enough luggage space.

General Florida Car Hire Information

Renting your Alamo car
Arrival
Upon arrival at the Alamo counter you must present your prepaid voucher along with this you will also need to show the following:

• A valid driving license
• Form of payment
• Return airline ticket
• Contact and address details
• Passport whilst in the USA
• Rental agreement

The Alamo agent will then offer you the option to purchase any available items not included in your confirmed rate, this includes the upgrade of your vehicle. If you wish to upgrade your vehicle then you will be charged an additional daily fee. Based on your selections, the agent will then print your Rental Agreement for your signature. This agreement serves as your vehicle registration form whilst the car is in your possession, so keep it in the car at all times.

Payment
Your credit card will be billed at time of pick up for all charges not included in your rate. If you do not have a major credit card then Alamo will accept cash. Any unused position of the voucher will not be refunded.

Driving areas
Vehicles can be driven in any state in the USA. Roadside assistance Multilingual roadside is available 24 hours a day by calling free on (USA) 10800 803 4444. In case of serious mechanical failure, Alamo will replace the car as quickly as possible. If minor repairs are authorised by Alamo, you should obtain a receipt so Alamo can reimburse you at the termination of your rental. If you are involved in an accident, a police report must be obtained and you must advise Alamo immediately. Please note that if the rental vehicle is damaged Alamo reserves the right not to provide a replacement vehicle.

In addition, the Roadside Service Plan can be purchased locally for USA$5.99 per day. This gives protection against the terms that are not covered under your standard 24 hour roadside assistance including key replacement, glass replacement, tyre replacement and towing. Underage drivers
All drivers must be 21 years or over. Drivers aged 21-24 incur an additional change of USA$25 per driver, per day. This fee cannot be pre-purchased and is payable at time of pick-up only.

Not sure where are you going? Fed up with map reading? Then why not pre-book a Sat Nav for the entire duration of you holiday. For peace of mind and convenience let someone else do the work allowing you to have more time to explore the Sunshine State Prices from £12 per day or £70 per week per car. Sat Nav included with Florida Homes when your car-hire is booked with either Fully Inclusive or Gold Insurance.

Deposit
A credit card imprint will be taken at time of hire. Alternatively, if you don't have a major credit card then a cash deposit is required.
