The Big Five Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - UK / New York
A non-stop, daytime flight to New York sees you in the Big Apple this evening, where you're met on arrival and transferred to your hotel for a two-night stay.
Hotel: Holiday Inn Manhattan Sixth Avenue

Day 2 - New York
A morning tour of Manhattan will show you major landmarks including the Empire State Building, Broadway and Chinatown. Several options are open to you when the tour ends. Sample eateries to suit all palates and pockets, or hop on a helicopter for an optional flightseeing tour of Manhattan Island, to set off in search of serious retail therapy in the city's world-famous shops and stores, or to stroll in the shade of Central Park's two hundred and twenty thousand trees. This evening, see a show and seek out a special restaurant, experience the glitter of the city and take off to Times Square just to enjoy the allencompassing air of excitement.

Day 3 - New York / Niagara Falls
Heading for the Hudson River Valley, we leave New York City and cross New York State, travelling through its scenery and greenery, stopping along the route in Albany, the state capital. Following time at leisure for lunch we turn west to cross the border into Canada heading for the country’s most fantastic feat of nature, Niagara Falls. We arrive here in the evening for a three night stay as the crashing cascade is illuminated for a fabulous night sight. Your Tour Director will be on hand to advise you of the best evening activities.
Hotel: The Oakes Overlooking the Falls

Day 4 - Full day excursion to Toronto
Probably the most cosmopolitan of Canadian cities, Toronto is our destination for this included full day tour. A sightseeing tour on arrival will show you the soaring CN Tower (admission not included), the Old and New City Halls as well as Casa Loma Castle and the fashionable harbour area. Having helped you get your bearings, we leave you at leisure to explore. Don't miss the glass-domed Eaton Centre Shopping Mall for a feast of stores and eateries. Perhaps try the stylish bars and restaurants along the waterfront, the city's Maple Leaf Gardens or the futuristic architecture of the Skydome Stadium. We leave the city behind at the end of the day returning to Niagara.

Day 5 - Niagara Falls
A full day at the Falls could see you enjoying the natural wonder from a variety of viewpoints. Optional tours may include a great IMAX theatre presentation of the scenic spectacle, sailing on the famous Maid of the Mist - for an up-close experience of the thundering waters, whose spray forms a permanent rainbow, or taking to the air for a short helicopter ride over the white-water horseshoe. Your Tour Director will be happy to help you make the very most of your day and, for your evening at leisure, why not join us for a good old knees up at the 'Oh Canada Eh' Dinner Theatre. Your Tour Director will have details on this for you together with other options.

Please note the Maid of the Mist may not be available before Mid May or after Mid October.

Day 6 - Niagara Falls / Washington DC
An early start finds us re-crossing into the U.S.A. today and heading for its capital, Washington DC. Our route takes us through the beauty of upstate New York and across the lands of pastoral Pennsylvania. Relax, sit back and take in the scenery before we reach our final destination. We will stop at Harrisburg, the picturesque capital city of Pennsylvania, before our arrival in Washington DC.
Hotel: Hilton Crystal City

Day 7 - Washington DC
Among the most graceful and gracious of world cities, Washington is wonderful for strolling. Littered with lovely landmarks that make it a sightseer's nirvana, it begs to be explored on foot at your own pace. To point you in the right directions, we include a city tour this morning, showing you highlights including the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington Cemetery - with the graves of the Kennedy brothers, Capitol Hill, the Smithsonian Institute and, unmissably, the White House itself. The remainder of the day is at leisure, so make the most of your last few hours in this magnificent city.

Day 8 - Washington / Philadelphia / New York / UK
Last, but certainly not least on our agenda, we call at the ‘city of brotherly love’, Philadelphia, showing you Independence Hall - where the Declaration was signed, and taking you along the Mall to see the Liberty Bell. There’s free time in the city to walk its enchanting cobbled streets and to do some last minute shopping, before boarding the coach for the final leg of your American journey. We drive directly to New York arriving early in preparation for your overnight return flight to the UK.

Day 9 - Return Landing
Morning arrival at your chosen UK airport - times vary.
