Splendour and Glamour of the West Itinerary
Day 1 – UK / Los Angeles
A non-stop flight from London or your regional airport to Los Angeles, You are met on arrival
and transfer is arranged to your central Hollywood hotel for a three night stay.

Day 2 – Los Angeles
Your day starts with a morning sightseeing tour that visits many famous sights, the Music Centre,
Farmers Market, Rodeo Drive, Sunset Boulevard and much more. The tour will end at Grauman’s
Chinese Theatre and its adjoining Hollywood and Highland Complex where you have time to visit
Hollywood’s Walk of Fame or have lunch at one of the many eateries. Explore Los Angeles with an
afternoon at leisure. Why not choose from a variety of optional excursions. Visit Universal
Studios, take a Behind the Scenes Hollywood Walking tour, or join a sightseeing tour of famous
Stars Homes.

Day 3 – Los Angeles
You have a full free day in the City of Angels to go at your own pace and style. Perhaps make
your way to Olvera Street for its Latino atmosphere, rub shoulders with the rich and famous in
Beverly Hills, or head for the city’s historic core to enjoy the buss of its Grand Central
Market. Sights in the downtown district include the modern Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels
with its huge bronze door, while central Hollywood is the site of the celebrity Walk of Fame
sidewalk, paved with stars. In the evening try the comedy clubs on Sunset Boulevard.

Day 4 – Los Angeles / Scottsdale
From city to country, from the California coast to Arizona’s Valley of the Sun, today takes
you to a very different place. We travel east to Scottsdale where up-to-the-minute architecture
and very contemporary resorts are juxtaposed with a 19th century downtown area – with arty
shops and galleries to vie for your attention. Your evening is at leisure here, why not
venture out and taste the flavour of the Old West!

Day 5 – Scottsdale / Grand Canyon
Some of nature’s most amazing creations are along our route today, so keep the camera handy
for unique holiday pictures. You may even capture personal auras in Sedona – famed for the
‘psychic cosmic energy’ of its setting. From here to Flagstaff the 27 mile drive cuts through
Oak Creek Canyon – with its Ponderosa forest and tall cliff wall of russet red and stark white.
Our destination is the biggest natural attraction of them all – the Grand Canyon itself, and
we arrive in ample time for you to enjoy the breathtaking view from the South Rim. Our
overnight stay is in a lodge within the National Park, probably little more than 500 metres
from the edge of the chasm.

Day 6 – Grand Canyon / Las Vegas
Today we leave canyon country for the complete culture shock of the world famous, neon-lit,
Las Vegas. Departing the Canyon, we drive to Kingman where we stop for lunch, and then we drive
on through the desert to Las Vegas. During the evening in the City of Lights, why not join one
of our optional excursions and see a famous classic stage show, and tour the exciting Las Vegas
Strip.

Day 7 – Las Vegas
You have a free day to experience the excitement of Las Vegas, strolling the strip for its
sumptuous array of fantasy hotels. Where else in the world could you see the Roman Forum,
the Pyramids of Luxor, a Treasure Island Pirate Ship and the Canals of Venice in one afternoon?
There is plenty to enjoy, from the lavish casinos such as Wynn, The Venetian, Mandalay Bay, and
The Mirage to name but a few, to spending a night at one of the many shows featuring world
famous entertainers. As if this isn’t enough to keep you occupied, we have a variety of optional
excursions arranged. Your tour director will be on hand to assist in your decision.

Day 8 – Las Vegas / UK
Relax at your hotel; enjoy the year-round sunshine with a cool dip in the pool, or shop for
the brashest, kitschiest souvenirs you can find. Your final morning is free time before
transferring to the airport for your overnight return flight to the UK.
Day 9 – Return Landing
Morning arrival at your chosen UK airport. Times vary.
