Mount Washington Cog Railway

A ride up Mount Washington, the world?s first mountain-climbing cog railway is included on day 8 of your tour. The ever-changing surroundings, the magnificent views, the sights and sounds of unique steam locomotives in action, and some of the steepest Railway tracks in existence, combine to place it among the best of the world?s great railway journeys. This is a trip that must be made to be fully appreciated.

Day 1 - UK to Boston

Start your Jetsave Journey with a direct flight to Boston. We'll meet you on arrival and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2 - Boston

Enjoy our sightseeing tour of Boston this morning, and spend your afternoon as you like, taking in the sights of this historic city, like the Freedom Trail, Quincy Market and Fenway Park.

Day 3 - Boston to Hyannis

Travel south this morning to seaside Cape Cod, stopping en route at Plymouth Rock, where the pilgrims first came ashore on the Mayflower. You'll find out all about it at Plimoth Plantation's museum. From historic Plymouth, we head on to Hyannis.

Day 4 - Hyannis to Marthas Vineyard to Hyannis

Set sail for a day trip to Martha's Vineyard island, once a peaceful vineyard, then a prosperous harbour for whale hunting ships, the island has grown into a popular resort, with sandy beaches, hiking and cycling trails, its now a favourite celebrity holiday escape.

Day 5 - Hyannis to Sturbridge

Take in the legendary glitz and glamour of Newport, Rhode Island before arriving in Sturbridge.

Day 6 - Sturbridge to Stowe

Set your alarm clock if you want to join our optional excursion to Old Sturbridge village, an unforgettable recreation of 1830s New England. Then, we head north through Massachusetts and Vermont, to Stowe, with its rolling hills, rapid rivers and amazing scenery, especially during 'leaf-peeping' season.

Day 7 - Stowe to North Conway

Travel east across the state line to North Conway. We?ll pass through Montpelier, Vermont?s elegant state capital, before heading for the White Mountain foothills to see amazing autumn colours. Don?t forget your camera ? silver bark birch trees glint in the sun, oak forests have turned amber and the hillsides are splashed with scarlet maple trees.

Day 8 - North Conway

Climb aboard Mount Washington Cog Railway this morning for an unforgettable three hour journey high up in the White Mountains National Forest. We then head back to North Conway for an afternoon to spend as you like in this beautiful area

Day 9 - North Conway to Boston / UK

Make the most of your final few hours in North Conway, before leaving for Boston for your airport transfer and overnight flight to the UK.
