Day 1 - UK to New York
Arrive in New York, pick up your hire car and head to your Manhattan hotel.

Day 2 - New York to Boston (240 miles)
Meet your American Tours representative at 8 am this morning. You'll be given a welcome kit including driving instruction. Start your journey, leaving the 'Big Apple' behind to venture on to the open road, as you head up into New England for your two-night stay in beautiful Boston.

Day 3 – Boston
Spend a full day exploring historic Boston; the city's ideal for walking so you can leave the car behind and take to the streets like a local. Don?t miss the Freedom Trail's walking tour, which tells the tale of the American Revolution, see the home of the Red Sox at Fenway Park and try the delicious seafood this city's famous for.

Day 4 – Boston to Niagara Falls (480 miles)
Travel west today, crossing the Hudson Valley and famous Catskill Mountains on your way to Corning. You can stop at Steuben Glass Factory to see glass being made. Then it's on to the awesome Niagara Falls for two nights on the Canadian side known as Horseshoe Falls.

Day 5 – Niagara Falls
Enjoy a full day around Niagara Falls, however you want to see it. Cruise to the foot of the Falls on the Maid of the Mist or, if you're feeling adventurous, you can even try the spectacular Journey Behind the Falls.

Day 6 – Niagara Falls to Amish country and Gettysburg (360 miles)
Travel through upstate New York's Finger Lakes region on your way to Pennsylvania's Amish country, a beautiful place to drive through. Then it's on to the American Civil War's most famous battleground, Gettysburg.

Day 7 – Gettysburg to Washington DC (93 miles)
Drive down to Washington DC this morning and take in the sights of the US capital.

Day 8 – Washington DC
Spend a full day exploring historic Washington, seeing landmarks like the Capitol building, White House, Georgetown, Lincoln Memorial and Jefferson Memorial. Visit the Smithsonian's museums, full of America's historic treasures, and be moved at Arlington Cemetery, home of the Kennedys' graves.

Day 9 – Washington DC to New York (240 miles)
Leave Washington behind you today, as you drive on to Philadelphia, with must sees including Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed. Then continue on to the 'Big Apple', New York City.

Day 10 – New York
Wake up to a full day in New York City, visiting the Statue of Liberty, hitting the top of Empire State Building, having lunch in a New York deli, strolling through Times Square or shopping on Fifth Avenue. You might even want to spend the day relaxing in Central Park, before an evening in this exciting city.

Day 11 - New York to UK
Once you've returned your hire car, you'll board your plane for your flight home.
